COMMERCIAL/INDUSTRIAL
The Commercial/Industrial Committee will establish, locally, a better exchange of products, services, ideas and forms for Commercial/Industrial real estate. It’s estimated they meet once a month.

EDUCATION
The Education Committee is charged with establishing and maintaining education programs and seminars of special interest to the general membership and for review and update of Association Orientation examination material. It’s estimated they meet 6 times a year.

GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS/RPAC
The Government Affairs Committee is charged with the responsibility of studying proposed and existing legislation effecting real estate. Its areas of concern cover local, state and national legislation and annual fund raising for the Realtors Political Affairs Committee (RPAC). It also makes suggestions to legislators and communicates the Association’s position on legislative matters. It is charged with interviewing candidates in the event the Association wishes to endorse candidates in political races and recommends those legislators who are most favorable to the real estate industry and private property rights.

The Committee is responsible for educating the membership on the importance of involvement in the Legislative process, and the solicitation of funds to support the Realtors Political Action Committee in order for RPAC to support Legislators at the state and national level favorable to the real estate profession. It’s estimated they meet 6-8 times a year.

GRIEVANCE
The Grievance Committee is responsible for investigating and making preliminary evaluations of ethics complaints and arbitration requests to determine if a hearing by a Professional Standards tribunal is warranted. The committee operates under procedures set forth in the Code of Ethics and Arbitration Manual of the National Association of Realtors. “Committee members should be mature, experienced, knowledgeable persons of a judicial temperament.” Does require advanced and specialized training. They meet as necessary.

PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS
The Professional Standards Committee operates under the procedures set forth in the Code of Ethics and Arbitration Manual of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS (as amended to conform with Michigan law by legal counsel of the Michigan Association of Realtors).

This “Committee” is charged with enforcement of the Realtor Code of Ethics and hearing Arbitration Requests through professional standards hearings. It is charged to hear ethics complaints referred to the committee by the Grievance Committee and afford due process in all proceedings. “Committee members should be mature, knowledgeable persons of a judicial temperament.” *You must have served on the Grievance Committee. Does require advanced and specialized training. They meet as necessary.

PUBLIC RELATIONS/COMMUNICATIONS
The Public Relations/Communications Committee promotes the REALTORS image in the community through the use of positive publicity in external communication mediums (print, television, radio and internet). The committee also assists the staff in the development of methods to communicate important information directly to members and affiliates, and focuses on recognizing member accomplishments and encouraging member participation in association activities. This committee also works to create good, positive “PR” internally, within the REALTOR Association and provides input relative the Association website. It is estimated they meet 7-8 times a year.

REALTORS WHO CARE
Works on projects that benefit the community, i.e. Baskets for Women in Transition, winter coats/outerwear/blanket collection and distribution, Buck A Deal Program. Also makes charitable contributions to many worthy organizations. If you care about putting something back into the communities we serve, RWC may be for you! It is estimated they meet 8 times a year.
